Corning Fibronectin Cellware

Corning^® BioCoat™ Fibronectin Cellware is made with a coating of Human Fibronectin (HFN). HFN can be used as a substrate that promotes cell attachment. This is possible thanks to the central-binding domain RGD sequence associated with these glycoproteins. HFN is harvested from mesenchymal and epithelial cells found in the ECM and plasma.

Users can purchase several varieties of Corning BioCoat™ Fibronectin Cellware. These include: multiwell/assay plates, culture dishes, flasks, coverslips, culture slides, inserts, and 24-multiwell insert systems. All of these are treated with a uniform coat of HFN. The effects of the HFN promote cell attachment/spreading, rapid cell population expansion, and reduced serum or serum-free cultures. They are ideal for cell adhesion assays, studying the effects of HFN on cell behavior, and improving the survival of primary cells in culture.

The human plasma used to gather the HFC has been thoroughly tested to ensure user safety. Cellware is guaranteed to be free of hepatitis B antigen and HIV-1 antibody. Other tests include quality control testing. The cellware is tested for its ability to promote attachment and spreading of BHK-21 hamster kidney cells, for bacteria/fungi, and for fibronectin purity.

The cellware is stable for at least three months from the date of shipment. It should be stored at 2° to 8°C.
