Hsu's Lactobacillus/Pediococcus (HLP) Medium (Siebel/Döhler)
Siebel Institute / Döhler HLP Medium (Hsu's Lactobacillus and Pediococcus Medium) allows fast and simple testing for the most common beer spoiling bacteria.
Product Details
- Autoclaving the medium before use is not required.
- Many lactic acid bacteria can be detected in as little as 48 hours with only minimal lab equipment required.
- Differentiation and selective counting of Lactobacillus and Pediococcus can be performed after 5 days of incubation.
- When used in screw-cap tubes, anaerobic incubation is not required.
Package Quantity Contains 500 g dehydrated media. Prepares approximately 500 culture tubes.
Note: To prepare Siebel HLP medium in agar form, a separate addition of bacteriological grade agar is needed (sold separately). Bacteriological agar can be found at the link below.
