MicroSnap™ Indicator Organism Tests (Hygiena)

The new MicroSnap platform bridges the time gap between ATP and bacterial culture results with convenient, 8-hour or less tests for E. coli, Coliform, Enterobacteriaceae, and TVC. Additionally, a test for Listeria species is in development. MicroSnap tests are read by the EnSURE monitoring system and results are recorded with SureTrend software. EnSURE measures both ATP monitoring and organisms tests, enabling food and beverage processors to acquire an accurate status of plant hygiene and product quality during the same working day or shift. Knowing test results sooner prevents recalls, reduces waste, shortens hold time, and enables a quicker response when contamination issues arise.

The EnSURE instrument stores up to 5,000 locations, 200 user ID’s and 100 test plans. It also comes with “SureTrend” data analysis software to store and track results:

In addition, EnSURE is capable of running multiple tests in addition to microbial detection, including:

• Environmental ATP using UltraSnap for measurement of cleaning efficiency – detects to 1.0 femtomoles
• Allergen cross-contamination prevention using SuperSnap – detects to 0.1 femtomoles
• AquaSnap for water ATP for biomass or organic residue

Four specific microbial tests are available:

• E. coli
• Coliform including E. coli, Klebsiella, Citrobacter, Enterobacter
• Enterobacteriaceae (available very soon) includes Salmonella, Yersinia, Serratia, Shigella, E. coli, Klebsiella, Citrobacter, Enterobacter
• Total Viable Count (TVC) which detects Gram positive and Gram negative aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacteria

The first three test methods give results in 6 hours for enumeration and in 8 hours for presence/absence. The TVC test gives results for enumeration in 7 hours. These same-day results have many benefits for raw material testing, plant environmental monitoring and finished product testing:
