Owl Semi-Dry Blotter

This Owl® electroblotter facilitates rapid transfer of proteins or nucleic acid molecules from polyacrylamide or agarose gels to membranes. It requires minimal buffer volume—just the buffer contained within the blotting filter paper is sufficient for transfers. The system is ideal for proteins with molecular weights less than 150 kDa.

The system includes solid-plate platinum/titanium and stainless steel electrodes that are highly conductive and allow transfer at low voltages without an external cooling system. They provide a uniform electric field for efficient, even transfers and are graphite free to avoid the decomposition associated with graphite electrodes.

Each system includes a base with stainless steel cathode plate, a lid with built-in anode, interlocking power supply leads, and heavy-duty knobs. Set up is easy and quick.
