Qualitative Grade 5 Filter Papers
Qualitative Grade 5 Filter Papers are used in qualitative analytical techniques to determine and identify materials. Prepleated qualitative filters are also available. They give improved flow rate and increased loading capacity compared to equivalent flat filters.Grade 5: 2.5 µm is the maximum degree of fine particle filtration in the qualitative range. It is capable of retaining the fine precipitates encountered in chemical analysis. It has a slow flow rate. It is an excellent clarifying filter for cloudy suspensions and for water and soil analysis. Also available prepleated as Grade 5V.
Grade 5V prepleated filters decrease overall filtration time because of the extra surface area that is exposed. It has major advantages over flat circles. Loading capacity is increased with more available filter area. Filters also maintain the flow rate due to the reduction in filter paper contact with the funnel side and the self-supporting shape of the filter itself. The prepleating does not significantly affect any of the technical data and the same figures may be used for the flat circles.
